The Second EUVE Source Catalog
Abstract
A variety of new techniques have been developed to identify EUV sources in the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE) all-sky data set. Statistical tests have been carried out to validate the point source search detection methods, both with regard to their rejection of false alarms and their detection efficiencies as a function of source strength. Using combinations of the best of these tools, we have again found all of the sources reported in The First EUVE Source Catalog and have identified a substantial number of new EUV sources. The techniques and tests employed, and the new EUV sources found, will be presented. This work has been supported by NASA contract NAS5-30180.
